Representing the Business of Chemistry

The New York State Chemistry Council is a statewide trade association that serves as the premier voice on chemicals, environmental, and health and safety issues that impact on chemical companies and the industry at large in New York. We serve our members by providing legislative and regulatory advocacy, information, counsel and support, as well as help them respond to the initiatives and concerns of elected officials, regulators and community groups.

What We Do

LEGISLATIVE & REGULATORY AFFAIRS
The New York State Chemistry Council (NYSCC) supports policies that promote innovation, health and safety, sustainability, and a competitive business environment. We also monitor industry trends and emerging issues to protect against policies that would have an adverse impact on the business of chemistry.

NYSCC represents the industry before members of the Legislature and Legislative Committees, the Governor's Office and State Agencies, Regulatory Bodies and Commissions. We also rely on our members to provide expertise and guidance on technical issues and invite their participation in the legislative process.

ADVOCACY
NYSCC educates lawmakers and the public about the ways innovations in chemistry improve lives and solve modern challenges. Chemistry makes possible a healthier, safer and more sustainable future. NYSCC works with member companies to demonstrate the importance of our industry to lawmakers through plant tours, round tables and one on one meetings.

COMMUNICATION
NYSCC provides members with legislative updates, alerts and regular monthly e-newsletters focused on important issues impacting the industry. NYSCC also offers Environmental Health & Safety programs for member companies to stay up to date on significant regulatory and compliance issues.

PARTNERSHIPS & COALITIONS

NYSCC works with partners in the business community and trade groups with similar interests  to advance common sense policies that balance a safe, responsible environment and a competitive business industry.
